The workshop provides an overview of experimental field recording, exploring various techniques, strategies, and tools. Theoretical aspects such as taxonomies and the history, as well as related topics to the discipline including Musique Concrète, Deep Listening, Soundscape, and Acoustic Ecology,…. will be discussed. This will be followed by a lecture on technical aspects such as microphones and recording techniques with demonstrations. There will be field trips with creative listening exercises and hands-on work using various recording equipment. Open discussions on the creative employment of the collected material will be held and guidance will be provided during the process of composing with the recordings. This workshop encourages a dialog with the participants on practical, technical, and artistic aspects of field recording. Participants will have the opportunity to present their works in an installation during the festival.
